The Brook

Looking back now, on the the spot the above photo was taken, I’m struck by it’s significance. To me at least.

Above me an old bridge, part of what probably was the main road before someone decided to move it 30 feet to the left. Now leading to a destination unclear. At my feet runs one of a million Newfoundland brooks. In a way a forgotten road itself. Standing there I feel like I’m being presented an opportunity to choose a path. A feeling I’ve been having for a while now as I wrestle with making decisions for the future. The river or the road; clueless to what either path means, but getting closer to moment when I’m actually going to make the decision to take one or the other.

River or Road.
