I spent a quite a bit of time on this last trip to Peggy’s Cove experimenting with the best way to use the various pools of water that collect in the crevasses. Unlike the ocean the pools are still and work like mirrors. In order to get the best reflections like the one above you need to get really low. I mean REALLY low. It basically becomes impossible to look through the viewfinder. So shooting becomes trial and error. Put the camera on the ground, shoot a couple, check them and try again. Kinda fun but thank God for digital SLRs.
I think I like the image but I’m not certain about the balance. It needs something. I’m over thinking things of course. It’s a good picture that represents Peggy’s Cove and the lighthouse very well.
Peggy’s Cove is the most photographed place in Nova Scotia but there are lots of other places to see in Canada. Some of them are here.
